The story

Jeremiah Sullivan (1794–1870) was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and moved to Madison in 1816. He married Charlotte Cutler in Madison in 1818. As a state legislator he suggested the name Indianapolis for the capital. He later served on the Indiana Supreme Court. The c. 1820 house is closed for restoration through 2026 and is not on the public-tour calendar.
