The story

The Shrewsbury–Windle House is a National Historic Landmark designed by Francis Costigan. HMI’s page describes the spiral staircase, plasterwork, and carved stone, and notes the 2019 Cook Cup for outstanding restoration. A virtual tour is offered on HMI’s site for people who cannot travel to Madison. The house ornament sold by HMI is $15.
